Lightning Strike Productions was created by Richard Brooks, an award winning multidiscipline media producer based and filming in Salisbury, UK.
Lightning Strike Productions is named for that critical moment that makes a shot stand out, the shot that makes an audience say “WOW”….
Initially Richard worked solely as an underwater cameraman, but over the course of his 20+ year career he has seen the need to embrace a wide range of media production techniques and disciplines.
Richard now provides media production services to clients all over the world. Media that goes above and beyond expectations.
Over the years Lightning Strike has become an award winning and internationally recognised media unit. It is best known for innovative environment focused filming and photography.
Richard’s multidiscipline media production skills have been utilised by multiple international broadcasters across the globe. Clients range from Pacific based NGOs to Animal Planet and the BBC amongst many others in feature films and TV documentaries.

Richard is an HSE qualified media diver with Rebreather and trimix certifications and a CAA certified Drone Pilot.

Stabilisation: In House DJI RS2 Gimbal. Rings and EasyRig setups available from rental network.

Where are you based?
Lightning Strike is based in Salisbury, Wiltshire, in the South of the UK
What parts of the UK do you provide media production services to?
We are British Citizens so there really is no limit to where we will work from the Shetlands to the Scillies and everything in between. International filming assignments are also catered to.
Are you insured for flying drones commercially?
Yes, we have drone specific third party insurance available on a day to day or even flight by flight basis. This ensures that property and persons are covered and costs to our clients are kept to a minimum
Are Drones illegal in UK?
Drones that you can buy off the shelf are not illegal, however there are a few rules and regulations in place to ensure everyone stays safe. Our Drone pilots are Civil Aviation Authority qualified and insured to fly according to laws in the UK. To start off with you must register your drone and stick to a few guidelines.
